60 Personnel Deployed to Deal with Impact of Inundation in Cempaka Putih

Some 60 joint personnel were deployed to handle the impact of inundation on Jalan Letjend Suprapto and Jalan Jenderal Ahmad Yani, Cempaka Putih Timur Urban Village, Cempaka Putih, Central Jakarta, Thursday (2/29).

We have alerted personnel since morning

As quoted by Beritajakarta.id at around 8 AM, the puddle high on Jalan Letjend Suprapto reached around 30 centimeters at the deepest point. As a result, the slow lane of Jalan Letjend Suprapto to Senen starting from Cempaka Putih intersection for about one kilometer cannot be passed by vehicles.

The sama condition is also spotted on some of the fast lanes of the road from the direction of Senen. As a result, only one route can be used in the area around the Transjakarta Bus Stop at Cempaka Putih Islamic Hospital.

Mobile Pump Deployed to Tackle Puddles on Jalan Pegangsaan Indah Barat

Cempaka Putih Sub-district Head, M Fauzi expressed the inundation in his area was caused by heavy rain which fell repeatedly from early morning until late morning today.

"We have alerted personnel since morning, anticipating and assisting residents whose vehicles have been affected by inundation. Personnel are also trying to parse traffic jams," he he expressed.

Since 7 AM, as many as 60 joint personnel have been deployed to the location. They were from PPSU, SDA, Transportation, and Satpol PP. Then around 8.30 AM, a towing truck from Central Jakarta Transportation Sub-agency had been alerted on Jalan Letjend Suprapto Cempaka Putih.

He explained the puddles on the two protocol roads would recede as the rain stopped.

"We'll continue to alert personnel until the situation is conducive, thus no residents are trapped in puddles," he asserted.

Cempaka Putih Sub-district SDA Executing Unit Head, Subandi admitted he had activated a number of pumps to speed up the receding water.

"All pumps are now still sucking water. Pump capacities start from 500 cubic meters per second to 1500 cubic meters per second," he stated.
